9th & 9th Street Festival

The Sleepictures booth was the place to be at the 9Th & 9Th street festival on Saturday. People came in and out all day long and we did pretty well if you ask me. Booth setup and take down happened in record time thanks to the Interns and Teresa herself. Isn't our booth pretty? It was an exciting day filled with mystery, intrigue, and puppies. Teresa was pleased to find out she has a younger audience as a young girl browsing the booth saw her stickers and let Teresa know that having one on her notebook would make her the envy of all her friends at school to which Teresa replied with an abundance of stickers for her and her friends. Earlier a small child wandered into the booth from the back while Brittanee was away as her parents were calling her I took it upon my self to turn her around back to her family, but if you're just getting back to the booth it looks like the new intern is stealing a child we had a good laugh about that one. Many of Teresa's friends showed up throughout the day to show their support and say hi I'd list them all but there's just not enough time. It was a blast and we hope to see you all at the 3rd Annual SLC fall fashion Stroll this Friday on 3rd south downtown and at farmers market on Saturday.

New intern

We have just hired another intern to make an even bigger Sleepictures family! Welcome Jonathan Diaz to the team.  He is into photography as well as other art mediums and looking to learn from "one of the best!" We are very excited we have someone tech savvy. Right now he is working on photographing Sleepictures products for Etsy. So...updated and totally rad etsy page coming soon.
ps. a group shot will be happening soon as well.

Loft for rent

Sleepictures is still looking for a space. After months of looking we found this beautiful urban loft in downtown Salt Lake. We are looking to share the space! The space has exposed brick, large windows, kitchen/bathroom and parking in the heart of downtown which makes this an ideal commercial work space for designers, architects, photographers, artists etc. We're looking for someone that has a similar vision and wants to create an artistic hub. Check out the craigslist add for more details and please contact Teresa if you or anyone you know is interested!

Hello, blog world.

Sleepictures is an artist based company that sells accessories and apparel created using Teresa Flower's  artwork. It is a very unique and fun product line and has been placed in small boutiques in the West including Doe on Haight Street in San Francisco. Some history for you...Sleepictures started in 2001. Teresa started becoming well known for her photography and started putting her images in belt buckles. She is the founder of The Womens Art center, in Salt Lake City. Then Teresa's products took off. Health issues came into the picture but she continued to focus on her products and Sleepictures has been growing ever since. If you would like to know more about Teresa, Gavin from City Weekly wrote a wonderful article about her that you can read here.
Check out the Sleepictures website...

My name is Brittanee Taylor, and I am doing an internship for Sleepictures. I am an artist as well, and got this opportunity to see what it's like on the business side of being an artist. I can't believe how much work it is! I do everything from calling high-end boutiques in California to send their buyers linesheets, to setting up booths at events or art fairs, to emailing, emailing, emailing, to making necklaces. I'm also meeting more people than I ever thought I would in the art community. We are based out of Salt Lake City and have quite a few events coming up, and I will be posting them soon.
ps you can add Sleepictures on Facebook!
